Basic Electrical Safety Training

Overview

Basic Electrical Safety Training lays the framework for basic electrical understanding in order to build in hazard recognition.  Students learn about the effects and thresholds of electric shock and arc flash. With basic electrical understanding, students easily learn about basic components such as receptacles, switches, and power tools. Personnel protective devices such as GFCI and grounding conductors are explained and demonstrated. Additional electrical safety topics are discussed, including battery safety, power line safety, and initial response to electrical fire and electric shock events.
